I'm done!

I finished my self impost challenge of knitting 12 sweaters in 12 months.

I actually did a little bit better, I finished it in 10 months.

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Since 1 of the 12 sweater of the challenge is made up of 2 baby sweater and "Nob Hill" (half sweater), I decided to knit 1 more adult sweater.

Anyway, I'm still ahead, because I start the self impost challenge in February 2010.  I'm really finish 12 sweater in 9 month.

This sweater is call "Girly Top" by Ram Wools.  I'm knitting it out of Malabrigo Silky Merino in Coral.  It's very orange, so it's alike a tribute to the San Francisco Giants winning the World Series.  I'm calling this sweater "Orange Girl".  I'm thinking wearing this to Giant's Stitch and Pitch game in 2011.

Friday, November 12, 2010

I finished my self imposed 12 sweater in 12 month challenge.

I BO the collar on my 12th sweater @5pm PST today.

Actually, I'm ahead, due to I started the challenge in February 2010.
I knitted 12 sweaters in 9 months.
It's really 11 adult sweaters, 2 baby sweater and a Nob Hill.  The 2 baby sweater and Nob Hill counted as 1 adult sweater.

It's pretty good knitting.

I'm all moved in!

Furniture arrived this morning from Florida, everything is intact and there.

Now it's time to unpack it all.

Thursday, October 28, 2010

I'm home in San Francisco = Happy.

The flight was nice, except with the 3 hours delate in NC.  The plane is coming from Chicago, but it was delate due to bad weather.

The delate it give me extra knitting time in Airport.

Monday, October 25, 2010

I cast on for my 12th sweater of the year today.  It's combination of 3 colors of Artfibers Kyoto.
The body it's blue and purple with red edges in seed stitch.  I'm using the same pattern as my 11th sweater, call St. James by Tonya Wagner.

Once I finish this one, I'll complete my self impost challenge of 12 sweater in 12 month.

It's more like 12 sweater in 9 month, due to I started in February with start of RavelOlmpics.

Sunday, October 24, 2010

I finished my 11th sweater of the year today.  Bind off while waiting for the movers to arrive.

It is called "St.Moving" due to I knitted it during the Florida move.

It's a very easy pattern called St.James by Tonya Wagner, I made out of Artfibers Kyoto.

Plan on making another one, so I can used up my stash of Kyoto, it will be blue, purple and red.
I'm almost done with moving.

Today, movers came and pack up Florida house.

I watched movers pack, it's fun.  They are very strong!

All the furniture that needs to be move are on the truck, so it will be a fun day tomorrow to spend with Emily and Jessica, my two little second cousins.

Can't wait to go back to San Francisco, I'm tired of being food to mosquitoes!

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Where is a Starbucks in Jacksonville, Florida?  There's one pretty much in every corner in San Francisco.

I can't find one, even in the mall!  I ask the food court employee and they said there IS NO Starbucks in the mall.

I don't HAVE to have Starbucks or  caffeine, as matter of fact caffeine put me to sleep.
Yes, caffeine do that to me.

That being said, once in a while, I like to have a Grande Mocha Latte, BUT there's no Starbucks.

I don't even want to search for Peets, just because people probably haven't even hear of it.

Packing is getting done.

Surprisingly, it's easier than packing up my place in San Francisco.

This is a good thing.

Donated alot stuff to Salvation Army.

Saturday, October 16, 2010

I arrived in Florida on my 33rd birthday and it's HOT!

Just have to live with it, now on to packing.

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Today is my 33rd Birthday and I arrived on a red-eye flight from San Francisco to Jacksonville.

It is HOT here!

I got alot of birthday wishes on Facebook and Grandpa made me dinner.

I feel pretty good.

Now is on to the packing of the parents house and get it ready for the moving company to ship to San Francisco.

First we need to get a new stove, washer and dryer for the house, so it's easier to rent it.

Thursday, October 07, 2010

I moved into my new place on Tuesday; I really like/enjoy it.

I hired a moving company and it's one of best decisions of my life.
3 men (big men) came, move all my furniture, boxes, stuff down from my 3rd floor apartment without any elevator to their truck, then unload everything into my new place.
Mom and I just enjoy watching them carry everything.

Note: watching men (big men) move stuff is fun, but they don't smell too good.

Now I finished this move, which is 1 of the 2 move I have to do in October.

Next up, fly back to Jacksonville, Florida to pack up parent's house and move it to San Francisco, California.
I hired movers too for  that move, which is a VERY smart decision.

Thursday, September 30, 2010

The moving stress level is down a little bit today.

It's due to 3 things:

  • Changed address on cable & got some discounts
  • Booked moving company for Florida move
  • Booked tickets to Florida

Now, on to more packing.

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Local movers are booked.

On to book  the cross country movers.

MOVING SUCKS!

Saturday, September 25, 2010

I haven't done alot of knitting lately, this moving/packing thing is getting in the way of my knitting

It's not good for me.

For the past 3 weeks:

  • I cast on for my 11th sweater of the year, but only knit 2 inches of it and put it to sleep.
  • I worked on the same pair of socks, usually I can finished a pair in several days
  • I did swatch for 12th sweater, but didn't cast it on.
I can't wait until I'm in the new place, so my knitting won't suffer anymore.

This moving thing (packing) SUCKS!

I'm living among boxes and boxes.

I can't wait until I move.

Then again, once I'm in the new house, I have to fly to Florida to pack that place.

MOVING SUCKS!

Monday, September 20, 2010

I'm now a home owner in San Francisco, Ca.

IT IS ABOUT DAMN TIME!

It took 3 years and more than a dozen offers, finally got this one and it's such bargain.

I really love the house, can't wait to nest, but now packing is stressful.

Monday, September 13, 2010

I went  White Water Rafting on 9/11!

Yes, we (knitting group) have a thing to plan events on disaster dates.
I.E.: skydiving on April fools & White Water Rafting (rapid 3) on 9/11.

We like it this way.

It's on the American river where gold was first discover back then.  I even saw a guy looking for gold.
It's very fun.

The next day: I went to 15th Annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival.

It was a very fun weekend.

Wednesday, September 08, 2010

I got my first pair of Croc & it's pink w/flower on it.
I have small feet, so it's a size #5.

I will wear it for my White Water Rafting trip this coming Saturday.

Saturday, September 04, 2010

On to my 11th Sweater of the year.

It's called Alice Top.

At the same time, I'm loving my MacBook & my iTouch.

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

My MacBook Pro arrived today.

So far, I have about 1 hour of experience & I already like it better than a PC.

This is start of a great relationship!

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

I'm switching to a Mac.

I order it online & it's in transit now.

I also got a new printer/scanner/copier & iTouch.

I can't wait.

My PC is DEAD!
It crashed on a Wednesday afternoon(8/25/10).
Some how it did not upset me as much as it should.

Why?  I'm not sure, after a day of thinking, I come up with some reasons:

  • PC is more than 3 years old
  • It runs slowly
  • Freeze up alot
  • Don't want a desktop anymore
  • Didn't really like this one in the first place, brought because it's cheap
  • Want a new laptop

So far, everyone I asked, states "MAC IS better"
For these reasons:

  • No slow downs
  • No freeze up
  • No out of blue crashes
  • One even going strong after 8 years!

I'm thinking switch to MAC.

Saturday, August 07, 2010

I finished my 9th sweater of the year "Yanney" on Friday 8/6/10.

Cast on for my 10th sweater today.  It's call Azami by Carol Feller.
It's a pullover w/hood and lacy designs.

Wednesday, July 14, 2010

I finished my Flora Tee on 7/13/10.
It's a pattern by Julie Turjorman called Passiflora and it's my 8th sweater of the year.

I'm on to my 9th sweater.
A pattern call Anney by Emily Johnson.

It's such surprise!

I re-connected with a person I know over 10 years ago.

It happens on Thursday 7/8/10.  As I was get ready to leave the meeting, the next meeting was being set up by this guy.  We say hello & introduce ourselves.  I mention he have the same name as a guy I know back when I was in college in Florida.  He ask which college I when to, I reply UNF (University of North Florida).  He stated that he when to the same school!
We look at each other a bit odd, then we realized that we know each other!  As matter of fact, we had the same management class together & had study sessions!  He's the first gay guy I know, back then.  Both of us laugh & hugged!  We didn't recognized each other, but I remember his name & he said my laugh sound familiar.  We exchanged number will schedule a time to catch up.

It's amazing! What a small world!

Here are the ODDS:
  • We went to UNF (University of North Florida) 10 years ago
  • We were in the same management class
  • We were study partners
  • We meet again 10 years later in San Francisco
  • We work for the same company.
  • We both live in San Francisco

I decided to do the sweater challenge.

It involved knitting 12 sweaters in 12 months (1 year).

I been obsessively knitting sweaters this year & Leslie suggested that I should do the challenge.  I give a little thought & decide to do it.

So far this year, I made the following:
  • 5 adult sweaters
  • 1 Noble Hill
  • 2 baby sweater
  • 1 coat that was started in 2009 & finished this year.
Baby sweater is faster knit than adult ones, so 2 will count as 1.
Noble Hill is like a half adult sweater & the coat started last year & finished this year will count as 1 together.

Total so far is 7 sweaters.

Monday, April 05, 2010

I went Skydiving on April 1st 2010!

It's NOT a April Fools joke,

A group of us did go skydiving, 7 of us all together, 6 jumped, 1 for moral support.
It was a event for Mei's 30th Birthday.

I have video and pictures to proof it.
My Skydiving Pictures
Still working on uploading the video

It is AWESOME!

I was laughing and giggling all the way down.  At some point I have to stop laughing because the air was rusting into my mouth and I can't breath.

Since we are knitters, couple of us was knitting before the dive, which help us to relax.  I wore my knitted socks and "My Tang" sweater, because I know it's going to be cold.

We had so much fun that we are thinking about doing this annually.

Parents likes the video and now mom is thinking about doing it for her 60th birthday.  That's in 2 years.
