My LA & Mexico Trip: Thanksgiving weekend 2008
11/27/08 to 11/30/08

Day 1
Start of the trip. Got up @6am. Mom was awake at 5:57am!!! I thought the pigs was flying due to mom is not a morning person. Took the #38 Muni to downtown to meet w/travel group. Stop by Starbucks to say hi to Karla (she works there). Its turkey day and she have to be in work at 4am! Wow.
We got on the bus, left San Francisco; pick up more people in the bay area and head down to LA. Our bus number is 2801.
Casa Del Fruita:
This is a fun rest stop. It has fruit, wine tasting, burritos, etc. It also displays a ton of old farm equipments. One of them has a sign reads “for your safety, do not climb on antiques”. I got a picture of that. There’s choo choos, horror tunnel & a carousel. There’s big market that sale fruit. One of the items is the smallest apple I ever seen. After that we continue our trip to LA. Stop @McDonald's for lunch, due to it’s the only place open on Thanksgiving Day.
LA
We finally got to LA around 5pm. It’s already dark, so the HOLLYWOOD sign can’t be clearly seen. It’s ok. I saw the Chinese theater, got pictures of the stars on the road. I got Big Bird & Bugs Bunny and others. In my opinion the walk of fame is not much of honor due to it’s on the side walk where everyone walks all over your name. Not to mention that homeless people & dogs pees, poos on your name. Then we went to the theater where Oscar use to take place before the 1950 & the new one theater was build next to the Chinese Theater. I like the fountain. We had dinner & check into hotel

Worked on 2nd of Joy’s sock during the bus ride.

Day 2
Got up @6:45am. Head to San Diego.
San Diego
Stop by the old town. It was very clean & nice, but not impressive as the old town in St. Augustine. Then, it’s to San Diego’ harbor. Took a one hour cruises around it. Saw a nice bridge. After that it was lunch, then off to Mexico
Tijuana
Crossing the boarder to Mexico, it’s so easy. We stop by Tijuana for about an hour for shopping. It’s an interesting place. Only stay on 1 block of the shopping area. I got warning of things happening there. Mom & I brought some nice bracelets for gifts & took some pictures w/a donkey. OH MY GOODNESS!!! On the donkey. I know it’s a donkey, but it was painted to look like a zebra!!! There are also people selling craft on the streets. It was mother & her kids, 2 girls, maybe between age of 5 & 7; the mom was holding hand of 2 year old boy & caring a baby on her back. HOLY ******! She’s a human rabbit. The shopping area was very nice & clean, but once we driving out of the area, everything is so poor. We head down to Ensenada toward south.
Ensenada
It’s a nice town. It’s a tourist trap!! On the way to the place, there’s a lot of real estate development. The houses are so nice, they were all mansions like buildings where here in the state will sale at least for 2 million or up, but I think it will be cheaper in Mexico. We check into a hotel in Ensenada & when to dinner. The town takes US dollars which is nice. Mom & I had a wonderful whole steam fish, I also had oysters and it was only $22 including tips & taxes.

Day 3
Got up @7am and head to La Bufadora at 8am.
La Bufadora
Took about an hour to get there from Ensenada. It’s where the waves come up so high up to cliff. It’s nice & a lot of shops for tourist. Another tourist trap. I brought 2 dresses that’s hand embroidered for $30. A blue one & a light purple one. Then we head back to the US.

Finished Joy’s sock & started on 1st of sock for Grandma.

Drive Back & Crossing Boarder
It took us about 3 hours drive to get to the boarder. There’s a long line crossing the boarder. I mean IT WAS A LONG LINE. I’m so glad our driver knows the area, he make couple of circles & got us almost in front of the line. It only took us a little over an hour to cross to boarder. It could have taken up to 4 hours.

Worked on Grandma’s socks while waiting to cross the boarder and started on baby booties. The boarder police check luggage like the airport and I don’t want my knitting needles to be taking away, so I put projects on them.

Hotel Del Coronado
We had lunch in San Diego and head to the Hotel Del Coronado. Nice big hotel with a lot of trees which is not good for my or mom’s allergy. Afterward head back to LA to check into hotel.

Day 4
Got up @6am & left LA @7am to drive back to bay area.
Santa Barbara
Its ok, I grow up in Florida, beach like that is dime in a dozen. I did see some nice art work by this guy who speaks really good Chinese. He said to us in Chinese “you like my art work; I like your credit card”. Mom & I both laugh, but we didn’t buy any art, no room for them on the bus. Then we head down to Solvang.
Solvang
I’m very impressed w/this town. It’s not because it has a Yarn Shop. It has a total European feel to it. I feel like walking in some really old English or Danish town in Europe. It’s really cute. The shops sell little European charms, but all of them are made in China.
We head back to the bay area.

Worked on Grandma’s socks.

I got home around 9pm. It’s a nice trip, just right amount of time.

I'm all better.
The gallbladder surgery is not so bad, good thing Anesthesia MD give me a special "cocktail" before hand. She said "you can't get this anywhere on the streets". I don't know what's in it, but it was good!. It keep me entertained right before the surgery. The "X" in the exit sign was spinning around, it was fun. I got out hospital the same day. The major recovery took about a week, but I took it easy for nearly 2 months. The MD said it's a 15% recovery per week.
I didn't ride my Red Sonya (Vespa) during this time. I miss riding her. I got back on her on Sunday, it was so much fun.

In the middle of my recovery, I had my 31st birthday party. Alot of my friends came. I had on the sweater I made during the recovery. Mom cooked alot of food, everyone loves it. I got yarn, booze, a diagram of the digestive system which shows where my gallbladder used to be & a pair of Hello Kitty G-String. It was a great party, because I can eat without fear of pain.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

That is it. I'm having gallbladder surgery on Thursday 9/18/08! This is exact one month to the date I went into ER.

My surgery time is 12:30pm, which is great, because I don't have to check in until 10am. I get to sleep in. I want to take my gallbladder home, but I think the medical staff won't let me. I'll ask anyway. Maybe they will let me keep my stones. I need to find out if they can record my surgery or at least take some pictures.

I'm not worried. I worked in the department of Anesthesia, so I know everyone will take care of me. I got all the inside scope of what kind of stuff to ask for. It's a simple surgery, I get to be discharge when I can eat crackers without vomiting and go pee.

Wish me luck.

It's been a month since my last entry. Why, so long?
I AM STILL ADDICTED TO PACKRAT!!!!!

The game on facebook, it's so much fun. I finished most of the current collections, the new collections I'm waiting for the cards to come out. In the mean time, I'm "Grinding" to get my level up & collecting credits, which I have over 8,500 and counting.

Something new: I HAVE GALLSTONE!!!

This means surgery, ouch!!! At least now I know the cause of all my stomach problems for the past 10 years.
I been having stomach pains since I was a kid. It have gotten bad in high school & college, I figure it was stress. It gotten worst as I move to and live in the bay area, I thought it's just stress of being here alone. Who would of thought I have gallstones!!! I had no idea, it never cross my mind.

Here is how it happened:
Monday - 8/18 around 9am, I feel pain in my stomach, try to vomit, but nothing come out. The pain just keep getting worst. I can't get up from the pain, so I craw out of the bathroom, called for help. I must scared the SHIT out of my office mate (a boy). He went and got 2 OB/GYN nurse (we worked in labor & delivery floor). Both of ladies are very nice, but they keep asking me if I was pregnant. They must thought since I was a woman & in pain, I must having a miscarriage or something related.
WRONG!!!
At this point, the pain have going on for about at least 20 minutes, I was cold, pale, shaking & sweating. Yes, all these can happen at the same time. They got a wheelchair & wheel me to the ER, which is a floor down from where I worked. I'm so glad I worked at a hospital at this time.
Again, in the ER, they ask me if I was PREGNANT.
NO!!!
They just won't take my answer for it, so I have to pee in a cup for them to run the test.
It came back NEGATIVE for pregnancy.
DUH!!!
My pain have lessen down to almost gone at this point, but they want to keep there to check everything. They put me in a room, hook me up to IV, took my blood, order ultrasounds.
I never been a patient at the ER before, so here a some of my major firsts:
First time ever getting an IV
First time getting morphine - boy that was some shit!
First time getting an ultrasound
Like I said before, I worked in a hospital, so I knew alot of people, including the ER nurse, the ultrasound tech. who did my test, etc. It's a good thing, everyone was super nice to me.

The result: 2cm gallstone. Have to have surgery.
What a little piece of SHIT. Causing all this pain.

Thursday, July 24, 2008

It's been awhile since the last time I write here.
The reason being?
I AM ADDICTED TO PACKRAT.

It's a game on FaceBook. I been playing everyday, once I find out I don't have to have the same 5 cards to archive. I been playing it non-stop and I'm pretty good at it. Currently, I'm on level 80. Right now, I have no choice, but to take a break from the game. Facebook is doing alot of changes to the site, so sometimes I can't even log in. Then again, I pretty much finished with all the current collections. The 2 new collections, don't even have the cards completed yet. Oh well, I just have to be patient & wait.

I also have a new favorite yarn shop. It's Art Fibers. Couple us knitters went there last weekend. I fell in love with the place. It have alot choices, bright nice colors, and they have sample yarn that you can do swatches and you get to keep it. The most impressive thing is that they can personalize sweater pattern for you. If you want to do the sweater in the round, but the instructions are to knit in pieces, the lady there can plug the numbers in the computer and give you a sweater pattern in the round. The best thing, is that only cost $10. I'm so happy about it because at the same time, she will take your measurements, so the size will fit, just like a personal tailor. I brought a sweater pattern & the lady changed to knit in the round. I pick out this beautiful blue yarn, but they don't have enough for the sweater, so they going to order it for me. It will take 2 weeks. It's ok, I'm willing to wait for beautiful yarn. It gives me a reason to go back there for more yarn. I also got a cone of pink sock yarn, which I'm going to put to good use by making co-workers baby items.

Lots things happen, since last time. All nice things.

Dad left for Florida in end of June, mom stated.

Sunday 6/29/08 - It is the San Francisco Pride Parade. I took mom, it is her first time to the parade. We stay for the whole thing, which is 3 hours. The parade is special this year, because of allowing of same sex marriages. I believe it is great for everyone. There's alot of couples that show their marriage certificates, it's so sweet and there was couple throwing out wedding candy. Mom catches one.
Here is the picture of the candy.

Afterwards, both of us was hungry, so we went to China Town for lunch.

Tuesday - 7/1/08, It is the first Tuesday of the month, so the museums are free, so I thought. The Asian Art Museum changed their free day to the 1st Sunday of the month. That was a big surprise for me, but it's ok, we got to go to MOMA. There was alot of people there. I didn't enjoy the exhibit that much. I'm not very much into modern art. Mom enjoy alot. Then we head toward direction of home. We hit the Conservatory of Flowers & DeYoung. Saw the water lily exhibit which I didn't get to see last time because it was closed. The Dahlia was blooming.
Here is picture of mom.

We went up to the Observing tower in the DeYoung and saw the whole city. The we head home, but we pass by the Rose Garden and it was beautiful.

Monday, June 16, 2008

Well, it's been awhile since my last entry. quite of bit of things happened.

One of my friend, end up in the emergency room then was hospitalized. She got some infection that took the doctors almost a week to find out. Now she's ok.

Parents came back from China. I got a big stuff doll, which is one of the Olympic mascot. Her name is "HuanHuan". She's red, very big, and hard to find. One of my dad's friend got some connection with the manufacturer, so I got her. I still remember him, he's the one who always gives me toys when I was a child. I remember, because it's not just any toys, but toys that no body can get or not even on the market. He also give me the most colorful fireworks when I was a child. Here is a picture of HuanHuan, the guy next to her is my dad.

World Knitting day was on Saturday June 14th and couple of join other knitters in Union Square to knit. I started a project to practice my Continental stitch. I'm doing well on it and liking it. The day was sunny, fun, and a huge poster of David Buickham in undies on Macy's store wall was a plus. Afterwards, 4 of us went for sushi.
On Sunday, I went to a friend's Japanese dinner. It was great food.

PSYCHO IS DEAD.

I'm so happy, hahahahhahaha, yeah!!!!

He died during Sunday dinner, I wasn't even pay attention to him. One of my friends, say that my fish don't look so good and saw it was belly up in the water. That was a wonderful moment. I been wanting it died for a very long time. One of my friend pour him in the toilet & I flush him. I flushed couple of time just to make sure his not stuck in there.

It's a happy happy night for me.

Had a wonderful night of knitting on Tuesday night. The annoying woman didn't show up. It was a small group, on knitter left early, so there's was 3 of us knitting and it's fun.

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

It's Memorial Day this Monday, which means alot of people is off including me. It's been awhile since I had a 3 day weekend. It's wonderful.

I got the $600 from our congress earlier in the month, I can't buy alot stuff for this little amount of money, so I used it to make dinner for my friends, increase my yarn collection and chocolate stash.

Saturday - woke up and hear raining outside, so I just turn over on my bed and went back to sleep. After the rain stop, I got up and when to got groceries for my dinner on Sunday. It's kinda yucky day, so I stay indoors & knit my 19th pair of socks.

Sunday - It's the day for Movie & Dinner. I went to Safeway to get last minute chips. I got all the cutting & preparing done. Couple of my friends arrived a little bit after 2pm. We decided to watch Ratatouille. It's a movie about a rat who wants to be a chief in Paris. It's so cute. After the movie, I started to make dinner.
Here are what I made:
  • 2 Coconut Curry; one is Salmon & Squid, one is veggie
  • Chicken w/Zucchini
  • Garlic Eggplant
  • Pork w/celery & peppers
  • Chinese Chives w/egg.
  • Chicken w/coconut rum & Mrs. Dash

More of my friends arrived for dinner. It's a fun evening and I had everyone take the left overs home.

Note: The nose on the rats in Ratatouille look like very pink nipples.

Monday - a kinda of lazy day. I washed the dishes from Sunday night. As I was doing dishes, I remember I forgot to make one dish on Sunday dinner, oh well, I'll make it up to my friends next time. Did some laundry and ride out to get gas for my Red Sonya. As I was parking Red Sonya, I finally meet the woman who rides the Vino, that's always parked with Red Sonya. She's Latina and speak very little English. She ask me where can she buy a riding jacket. I informed her, to go to Cycle Gear in SOMA.

It's a fun weekend.

Thursday, May 22, 2008

It's such an great day for me.

I got to go into OR (Operating Room) to see surgery while it's happening. I got to wear scrubs, hair net, and a mask. I was given direction as not to touch anything in the room and if I feel faint, just sit down and no one will laugh at me. With those instructions, I had mix feeling before hand. I most worried about like if I'm going to pass out for vomiting. Neither happened. As matter of fact, I enjoy the whole experience. I didn't even get a little bit of dizzy or nauseous.

I watch surgery of a woman who's having her febrile growth remove from her uterus. One of them was huge, and it has others grow around it too. It's like watch yeast under a microscope.
I want to go back in again. My director agree he'll take me back in whenever I want. I'm looking forward to it. There's other surgeries, I want to see a eyeball or a butt done. It will be so cool.

Monday, May 19, 2008

What a wonderful weekend.

Saturday - It's a nice sunny day, not hot as Thursday or Friday. It was warm enough for me to wear a sleeveless top. It's also Imagiknit's annual sale. Got there by 10: 30am (they open @11am) and wait for the store to open. I got 2 balls for malabrigo yarn and some yarn for socks. Afterwards, couple of us when to get burritos @Mission street. The I went to the San Francisco Chocolate Factory for my chocolate supply. I did pretty well. This my effort of busting the America economy with $600 from Bush. As I got home around 2:30pm and I saw the fog rolling in, so I give my Red Sonya a quick bath and when get some groceries. The rest of afternoon was napping. It's a sweet day.

Sunday - It's foggy weather. Susan's birthday party. It's also Bay to Breakers. The traffic was jammed by the event, it took Susan & Athena, 2 hours to get to the party. We got alot of drunks in the place, but it was still nice.

Today (Monday) - It's back to normal weather in the city, which is foggy.

Friday, May 16, 2008

Boy, it sure it's hot yesterday AND today.

So far, this is about the 4th hottest day here in San Francisco.

IT IS VERY VERY STRANGE. San Francisco don't get this hot. We are in northern California, NOT southern California.

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

It was a productive knitting session last night.

First and fort most, the ANNOYING WOMAN didn't show up. This means that nobody is waiting somewhere behind you for your left over fries.

A fellow knitter help me with my sweater. The Gather Pullover was finished, but the sleeves was too long. She show me how to shorten the sleeves. It's great, now the sleeves are just right. The night when on as usual, we did make plans for ImagiKnit. The store is having a sale this weekend. Couple of us will be there @11am when they open, so we can get the yarns we want. I'm so looking forward to Saturday.

Monday, May 12, 2008

It was a wonderful fun weekend.
Saturday:
Meet up with Karla, & ride down to Daly City on my Red Sonya.

We ride onto the Great Highway, then to Skyline Blvd., just like the last time. The smell on the Great Highway was interesting. I smell these in the following order: wood burning, weed or pot, animal poop. The last smell was near the San Francisco Zoo, they really need to clean those cages!!! As we got on Skyline Blvd. I got a wind of Eucalyptus trees, which I'm allergic to. I knew this will happen, so it's a good thing I drug myself in the morning. Our first stop was Outback Steakhouse, we got there just as they were opening, so we don't have to wait for seats, but we did wait almost an hour for our lunch. It's ok, we weren't in a hurry to go anywhere. Our second stop, is Daiso.
It's a Japanese dollar store. It's so much fun in there. I purchase alot things, this is my best purchase, a lunch box set for less than $8

You can see more of what I brought here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/yanhonglu/sets/72157605026647791/

Next stop was Jamba Juice, I wish I had one near were I lived.

Then it's to Target. I got 2 DVDs.

Our last stop was JoAnn's. I got #3 double point needles & found yarn for my Citrus Yoke Sweater.

This is the yarn.

Then we got on Red Sonya to go home. It was cold!!!! We can see the fog rolling in on Daly City/Colma. As we got back onto the Great Highway, the smell was gone, but we saw a giant cruise ship. It's so big, it look like a island, but it's moving, so we knew it was not island. I did took a wrong turn, but it was fun. It turns out we end up in Golden Gate Park, it was a nice ride. We stop by Safeway before we when home. It was a surprise for both of us that the fog in Daly City was heavier than in the Inner Richmond are of the city. As we near the city, it got sunnier.

Sunday - - it was a lazy day. I got up around 9am, which is early for me on a weekend. I when to get gas for Red Sonya & got some groceries on Clement. Come back home, lay down back in bed again. Got up around 11am, did the morning thing, when out for breakfast/lunch. I went to get Thai. I came home, watch some TV, got hungry again around 2pm. I cook a meal, ate it. I did some lacy knitting, and took a nap. When I awake up, it was around 7pm. I made dinner, then I decide to sew in my sleeves for my sweater. I finished the sweater around 9pm or so. It's a little bit too big and the sleeves are couple inches too long, but I really like it.

Friday, May 09, 2008

It's Friday, I'm so tired.
I need to go to my Pilate class, but I'm just tired. I know, it's lazy of me, but I have a big day tomorrow.

Karla & I are going to Daiso again, yaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!
We'll be hitting the road on my Red Sonya. The plan sites are: Outback, Daiso, Joann's Fabric. Maybe even Target & Jumba Juice.

Looking forward to Saturday.

Wednesday, May 07, 2008

I had a wonderful day off on Tuesday.
Athena, Karla, & I hit The Conservatory of Flowers, when up to Observation Deck in the DeYoung, found a lake in Golden Gate Park, then we went to Legion of Honors.

I uploaded all the picture for the day trip here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/yanhonglu
It's Titled: May 6 2008 Trip.
Check it out

First, Athena & I meet for lunch, then we meet up with Karla and walked to Golden Gate Park. Our first stop is Conservatory of Flowers, they are having a butterfly exhibit. It was so pretty, we were bit disappoint that the water lily exhibit was closed due to power failure, but it's ok, there always next time. The butterflies was pretty & colorful.
Next, we went to DeYoung's Observation Deck. There was a map of the city, Karla & I try to find the building were we live on the map. Both of us find it. I took some pictures from the deck. It has a wonderful view, I can see the whole city of San Francisco. We came out of the museum, and I saw a giant safety pin and I have to have a picture of me in front it.
Then we want to go to Rose Garden, so we start walking. As we walk, Athena saw a set of steps, so we when up the steps to see where it goes. It was such surprise to find a lake. It was very pretty. We walk around the lake, saw so turtles bathing in the sun, they were cute.
We finally hit the rose garden, took some pictures. We then walk to Fulton street to catch #5 bus & #18 bus to the Legion of Honors. There were some glass sculptures there that was very beautiful. We went there to see the Annie Leibovitz photo exhibit. It only cost $5. The photographs was amazing. She's so good at capture people. I was disappointed that I can't take any pictures.
Finally, we when to a Thai dinner, then to knitting.

Had a wonderful time at knitting. A knitter come back after couple months of absence. A knitter show off her knitting bag by JoAnn Page. We all want the bag, it was glorious.
In the middle of all of this, THE ANNOYING WOMAN came, all of us ignored her. She ask Susan if she's hungry, because Susan didn't have any fries and none of us was eating. She saw there was no fries, so left about 5 minutes and she didn't try to pass out any nasty cupcake/cookies.
We keep on knitting, talking. I promise Mia that's I'll bring my Victorian Lace book next week, hope I don't forget. Karla & I talked about our day trip. I give my progress on my Gather Pullover Sweater. It's almost finish, I just have to sew it together. I also got advice to wash it with water & vinegar, so the red color won't come off.

It was a wonderful way to end a great fun day.

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

It was Cinco De Mayo last night.

I celebrated with my "drinking buddy" and other friend. We were enjoying ourselves in the Tiki Bar (Trader Sam's) when this horny couple sat next to us.

It was DISGUSTING!!! They may as well start having sex right in front of us.

They need to get a room, the woman was drunk and all over the "love of her life". While one friend complaint to the bartender, the drunk woman got into a verbal argument with my friend. Then the bartender came over, so they got up and when to other side of the bar, continue stick their tongues down each other's throat.

It was annoying, if the bartender didn't come over, I would of taking that woman outside and punch her!!!

Then there some other woman who's been there since the bar opens start to dance with other. Shaking their butts, which they don't have any, then got all work up that some guys was watch them, so they SCREAM on top of their lungs "WE ARE STRAIGHT" over and over again.
SURE, we get it. Just shut up, and go back to drinking.

After awhile we left. It was a fun evening.
I have today off. It's been awhile since I took time off from work. It's only for one day, but it still feel so good not to have get up 6am.

It's 1st Tuesday of May, so most of the museum in San Francisco are free. Couple of my friends are going for the trip. One friend is joining me for lunch, then after that 2 more of my friends are joining us. We are hitting the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. It's showing a butterfly exhibit. I saw it last year, but it was at the end, so most of the butterfly was dead. I'm hoping to see more this time, since it just started. We are hitting one more or maybe two more museum afterward, but don't know which ones. We will just take a vote.

It's also knitting night.

Monday, May 05, 2008

What a relax weekend. I didn't do much at all and it's enjoyable. Did do laundry

I did make alot progress on my sweater. I finished the 2nd sleeve. The knitting part of the sweater is pretty much finished. Now is the putting together part which involves sewing, which I'm not very good at.

I did went out with a friend on Saturday night. My "drinking buddy", she fill me in on the details of her pass weekend visit with her friend from Vegas. According to her details, the guy is pretty creative.

I'm looking forward to Tuesday, it's not just because it's my knitting night. I'm taking the day off. Yes, an whole day off from work since I don't know when. It is also 1st Tuesday of May, and that means allot of museums in San Francisco are free. I will not be along on this trip, there are at least two of my friends join me for the day. We are hitting the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, they are having an butterfly exhibit going on until October. I'm taking my camera. Then the DeYoung, Legion of Honor, Asian Art Museum are on the list, but I'm not sure we will hit all of these, it will depend on the vote of my friends. It will be a fun day. I'm so looking forward to it.

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

It was a wonderful night of knitting on Tuesday night.

THE ANNOYING WOMAN DID NOT SHOW UP.
YEAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! :=)

It was a small group of us, which are nice. Brent come back after several weeks of absence. He started on a new sweater, most likely he'll finish by this Friday. He's really good. I can't wait to see how it turn out. Nicole came and show us her slippers she's making. I get to show off my sweater body that I finished. Helen came too. We had fun.
As usual, I had my burger, but this time I didn't get the garlic fries, I got a piece of fried fish. I try to lose weight by cutting down, but then again, I don't think cutting out the garlic fries and eat a piece of fried fish is any better. It's ok, I don't do this everyday, just once a week.

Monday, April 28, 2008

It was a very nice weekend.

The weather was nice on both Saturday & Sunday.
Saturday - Did my Trio make-up class for the one I miss on Wednesday. Cancel the standing Wednesday Trio class. I can't take it anymore, the woman in the same class complaint too much. I made allot of progress on my sweater. I actually finished the body, I'm on the sleeves now.

Sunday - The weather was a bit warmer than Saturday. I went to Leland Tea Company for Tea. Karla is changing Starbucks stores, we were to celebrate her transfer. I was nice & I got there faster than I expected on my Red Sonya and find motorcycle parking only half block away. Afterwards, Susan, Karla & I went to a yarn store in downtown. We walk there, Karla show us where she live, her old Starbucks store, and the new one she's transferring to. We got to the yarn store, but it turn out it wasn't even open on Sundays, but the website stated that it open until 4pm. We were disappointed, but it's OK. We can take it another trip later. Downtown weather is warmer than I'm used to in the Inner Richmond area. I came home, and make progress on my sock. I'm almost finished with it, think I only have less than 2 inches to go.

When to bed early, but wake up around 3am. Slept on & off for the next 3 hours, because if stomach cramp. I should not have that bowl of soup before I went to bed. Oh well, it's too late now, I just have to live with it.

Now it's Monday and I'm at work with a stomach cramp.

Thursday, April 24, 2008

Yesterday, Wednesday, it's Administrative Day, which is a day like Mother's Day, but it's for all the administrative workers. I think it use to be call "Secretary Day", but someone must changed to be political correct.
I got flowers & a card from the MDs & CRNAs I support, I also got See's candy from my Manager. Both was a surprise, but it was wonderful.
Here are some pictures:

The same night was our quarterly department meeting and one of the MD announce, it's administrative day at the meeting and thank me for all the hard work. It's a wonderful feeling to be know I'm appreciated by the department. It's also a night meeting, so I didn't get home until 9pm, but at least I got dinner at the meeting.

Today, I took it easy and got prepared for my busy Friday.

Wednesday, April 23, 2008

It's Tuesday, so I'm at knitting having my usual burger, garlic fries, talking, & get in some knitting at the same time.

I got my sunglasses back :=) Amie drop it off to me at knitting and everyone was glad to see her. We make plans for an outing in 2 weeks. She left pretty quickly because she needs to get back home and clean. She's having company come over on Wednesday.

Karla came after 3 weeks. Yeaaaaaaaaaaa :-) She also brought some wonderful glorious yarn with her, so we can all touch it and envy her for having it.

It was going along well, then "THE ANNOYING WOMAN" show up. SHIT!!!!!

I can't believe it, she just don't get the hint. Then she just sit herself down next to Susan, yelling across the table to ask what's my name(I was talking to Karla and for crying out loud, she can't remember my name after a month coming to annoy us), and inhaling the Susan's fries.
Then the annoying woman ask Karla to teach her to knit. This is just bad, each week she came and someone have to RE-TEACH her to knit. She don't remember after a month? It's just horrible. Karla was busy catch up with us, so she didn't have time to teach her. Then she try to give Susan some cookies.
OH MY GOD!!!! It's awful, the cookies are in a crumb up Ross plastic bag, Susan said no to the cookies. Thank goodness, I don't want Susan to get sick from it.
Afterwards, she just left in a hurry without saying anything. NO MANNERS!!!

Most of us pretty much gets her routine now. She comes, wait for some one's left over fries, or just start eating Susan's fries, try to give away some of her unwanted or left over/expired/nasty food to us, then leaves. We all agree on the fact that "SHE IS ANNOYING" and hungry. If she's that hungry, EAT YOUR OWN NASTY FOOD THAT YOU TRY TO GIVE AWAY TO US!!! We are thinking of donate $.25 to fund for fries, so she can eat it and leave.

Then the evening went on great. We catch up with Karla, envy her yarns, talking, and knitting. I show off the progress I made on my sweater, one finished sock, and the group I found on Yahoo that have wonderful lace projects. I was surprise to see rain coming down. It's strange for San Francisco, it's April and it's not raining season. It did pour for awhile. It did light up a bit around 9pm, I say goodbyes and see you all next week, and I went home.

It's a good evening of fun.

Tuesday, April 22, 2008

It's Tuesday, and it's my knitting, burger, garlic fries night, yeaaaaaaa :=)

I hope the annoying woman won't show up.

I was very busy on Monday and my office was freezing all day!!! I did get allot of work done. After work, I call up my friend if she wants to go to dinner, since I haven't eat anything all day. I wasn't hungry during the day, so I didn't eat. It's amazing, because usually I'm hungry all the time!!! Anyway, she can't go to dinner, because she's going to Target and she ask if I want to go with her.

YES, Absolutely, it's "Target".

So she pick me a bit after 6:30pm and off we when to Target. We stock up on allot cleaning supplies and etc. I got 2 DVDs, "Murial's Wedding" I love this movie, it's the first time I got a full introduction to ABBA music, I also got "Pan's Labyrinth", I heard great things about this movie and aways want to see it. I was happy with my purchases.
We were going to Safeway afterwards, but we stop by Olive Garden in the Stonestown mall for dinner. It's been years since I been to Olive Garden, back in Jacksonville, FL, Olive Garden was consider "REAL" Italian food!!! Anyway, we had dinner and I got a buzz from the drink. She drop me off at home, but I didn't know I drop my sunglasses in the car, thank goodness she pick it up for me. I really love that pair of sunglasses, and it also cost me like $60 dollars too. I'll pick it from her tonight before I go to knitting.

Looking forward to knitting, burger, and garlic fries, but not the annoying woman.

Monday, April 21, 2008

It was a working weekend.

Saturday - Have to be at downtown 4 Season Hotel by 7am. Took my Red Sonya and scooted down there. It's amazing how empty Geary can be on a weekend with no rush hour traffic. I mean, no one was on the road. I love it, so I got to downtown faster than I plan at 6:38am. Parked, surprised to see CompuUSA store have closed shop. Damn the economy must be bad. It cause me about $3 dollars to parked until 6pm. I love having a scooter. I got to the hotel. The conference room was in the Veranda room on the Lobby level, but it's actually the 5th Floor!!! Why they call the 5th Floor "Lobby Level"???? It's so strange. My job was to sign in all the CRNAs that's attending the event. It's a easy job and I was only busy for about 1 hour. I got paid the full day, it's awesome, not to mention that I got breakfast, lunch in the hotel for free, and got some knitting done too. There are several people at the conference who saw me knitting, and they compliment me on the sweater. I also show couple of them my 1 of my finished sock. I left around 2pm. As I was walking toward my Red Sonya, a guy on a motorcycle was parking, I tell him that he can have my spot, because I'm leaving and the space is paid for until 6pm. He knotted his head. I done my charity for the day. The ride home was windy!!! I also hit traffic along Japan Town because the Cherry Blossom festival was going on. I stop by Kinko's by my place to pick up some heavy duty paper to print out certificates. There's only 1 person behind the desk. The wait was longer than the time it took me ride home from downtown to Inner Richmond area. I got home and took couple of naps. It wasn't a bad day.
Sunday - Got up late, did some grocery shopping, did some cleaning. I also had the misadventure of finding out my garbage tube is jammed with garbage. It sucked, so I found some pole to try to unjammed it, I only was partly successful. Then, it's what the hell, the garbage man or someone else have to deal with it later. I'm not the one who got the tube stuck with smelly garbage. I washed my hands and when back to dinner and knitting. Make progress on my sweater, but have to stop, because I have question on the shoulder part. Hopefully someone at knitting on Tuesday will able to answer it. So I when back knitting my socks.

It was a nice weekend.

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

Tuesday was a easy day for me at work. Boss was at an all day meeting away from the building, so I finished my work and started knitting. I make allot of progress on my sock, then cast on and knit the toes for 2nd of the pair. I was looking forward to my knitting night all day.

It was a good knitting last night, after about 30 minutes.

The annoying woman did show up again, but didn't stay long. We were all eating at the time, so she didn't push her knitting needles in our faces to ask us how to teach her to knit again. The first thing she said was "Karla here?". It's just bad, Karla teach her knit 2 weeks in a row, but she can't remember what she look like, and keep asking one of the girl "are you Karla?". "NO, Karla is not coming tonight, because she has to work". One of our knitter share her fries with her, it was nice of her. After the annoying woman ate the fries, she give the knitter an open box of Wheat Thins. She did ask if we want cupcake first, but we say "no". One of our knitter tell her about knitting class on the 3rd Saturdays at the main library in downtown and it's free. Hopefully she'll go there. She just need more attention than any of us can give her. She's NEEDY!!! After she give away the Wheat Thins, she left. Then we throw away the Wheat Thins. The box is all crushed up, the bag was open, it just look so horrible.

Then we got on with our knitting and chit chatting. I get to show off the progress of my socks. I got advice on how to read the chart for the cabling for my sweater. I even show off my yarn for my next project, it's another sweater, but it's all cables. It seems this week, most of us are working on sweaters. Two of our knitters was working on different sweaters, but using the same yarn. I can't wait to see both of the finished projects. We didn't have a big show up last night, but it's fun. The new knitter we meet last week came back this week and she's making a hat. One of the girl have to leave early, because she didn't feel good. All in all, it was a good night.

Monday, April 14, 2008

It was a HOT weekend, temperature wise. It's reaching 80 degrees. Yes, this may not seem much in the southern parts of America, but this is San Francisco, this city don't get that hot. In reality, it don't even get that warm!!!

I did plan to go out, but after 30 minutes, I'm sneezing up a storm.
DAME the allergy.

Oh well, so I stay in the whole weekend. I didn't mind stay inside, my place stays cool and I had a friend over for dinner. I also finished some ice cream, chips, & rum (I need to finish what I started). I watched my Eddie Izzard DVDs, make allot progress on my knitting.

I'm so glad the weather have cool down on Monday.

Wednesday, April 09, 2008

My cough is getting better.

Had a wonderful sushi dinner with 2 friends. I forgot to take picture of the sushi. Oh well, next time. After dinner we went to knitting.

OH MY GOODNESS AND DAMN IT!!!

The annoying woman show up again after 2 weeks. Most of us was hoping she got the hint and not come back. Good thing I went next door first to get some fries & a knitting buddy give me a heads up about her. She come over once she saw me sit down and ask for Karla. I said Karla is not coming tonight. She just sits there and pretty much wait for anyone who will have fries left over. Another knitter have some fries, she can't finish & the annoying woman was like "me, me, me, I want it". She keep asking me if I had my burger. I say no, because I already had sushi. Again, she try to pass out cupcake that taste like playdo. Nobody talk to her, it's not because we were some unfriendly group, but all of us know that if any of us talk to her, she will be leched onto us like a unwanted bug. She's like a selfish child that wants attention all to herself and if the attention is taking away, she will get into your face. We all agree, SHE IS NEEDY!!!

On a good note.
Two of our knitting group member come back after a year of absence. It was so great to see them both and see what are they knitting. A new knitter join the group. She's very nice.

Monday, April 07, 2008

I started this weekend with an sore throat & a bad cough, so I took it easy.

Saturday - slept late, but got a craving for meat, which I don't often have, so I when out to hunt for food. Saw 2 pigeons going at it, thought they were horny, so I kinda of look away to give them privacy. Then I just have to look and it turn out they were fighting. Coooooooooool. I took out my camera and took some pictures. I was hungry so I when out to eat at 2 places, took a picture of the oyster I order. Straightly enough I keep wanting more meat. So I call up Amie & ask her if she knows any place that have allot of meat dishes. We end up going to Outback for dinner. I really like it.
Oh yes, I also found a Hello Kitty waffle maker. It makes waffles in shape of Hello Kitty and it's blue not pink.

Sunday - slept late again, do feel better. When for knitting, beer & pizza (not in this order). Had allot of fun, cast on for my sweater.

Now it's Monday.
My cough have gotten better, but I'm sneezing up a storm!!!

Friday, April 04, 2008

Had a wonderful dinner with 2 of my friends last night.
I made spaghetti, well it was angel hair. We eat, drink wine & share our bus experiences.

I'm coming down with a cold, but at least its the weekend, so I can take it easy.

Monday, March 31, 2008

Monday back at work, could be worst.

Good weekend, relaxed.

Decided to quit my basic Italian class. Too many Marina snob in the class, just don't feeling it.

I did my gauge for a sweater this weekend. It's not the sweater I want to make for the last couple month, because I need to find the yarn for that one, but this one is simple, I have the yarn for it, and I like the pattern. It's from Interweave Knits call "Gathered Pullover".

I'm sort of taking a break from knitting socks, but not totally.

I cast for my 17th pair this weekend and finished the re-do of 13th pair sock.

Thursday, March 27, 2008

My parents are leaving today for a 2 month stay in Shanghai, China.

THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom is ok, BUT dad is driving me nuts. I need a break from him, even after less than 2 weeks.

I'll have my 2nd basic Italian class tonight. Not looking forward to it.

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

Wednesday - middle of the week. oh well, it's not bad.

Had a wonderful time knitting last night. The annoying woman didn't come.
A new girl should up & she's fun. We were loud and share some stories.

My rent is going up another $50. This really sucks.
Have to look on the good side, rent may be up, but it's still alot of lower than what's out there now. I just have to look at place where I have to cut down.

Tuesday, March 25, 2008

I finished my 16th pair of socks. That makes 5 pairs of socks for mom to take home to relatives in China. She say it's enough. yeaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

I can finally knit a pair for myself.

I rip out my 13th pair of sock last night, which is done on "toe up" method. I didn't like the increases, because it has holes, so I'm re-doing it.

Looking forward to knitting tonight.

Hope the annoying woman won't come.

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

It was great fun knitting last night, but not at first.

The annoying woman show up again early. Susan and I try to talk to each other and try to catch up. She keep butting in and asking for Caro. We don't have a Caro in the group, but we do have a Karla. Karla was teaching her how to knit two weeks ago and have to re-teach her again last week. Susan & I keep on talking and knitting our socks, which I think the woman want a pair of socks, so she keep asking us who are we making the socks for and if we want to sell our socks.

"WE DO NOT SELL OUR WORK"!!!

Then she had this idea of want to learn how to knit socks. HOLY SHIT (I didn't said it out loud, but I wish I had). Susan and I refered her to ImaginKnit for classes. She then keep on asking if the class is expensive.

HOW IN THE HELL SHOULD I KNOW (I didn't said that a loud either).

We just say the class is worth the money. The minutes when on and more of our knitting girls show up, and of course the annoying woman ask each one of them if they want to sell their sock.

WE DO NOT SELL OUR WORK!!!

She keep knitting her scarf for couple of minutes then she pack up and got on the bus. She got on the bus in a hurry and left her knitting, which she came back to get. As she got her knitting, she ASK AGAIN about if we sell our socks, where is the sock knitting class is offered, and if class is expensive. We tell her to go to ImaginKnit, I even tell her to take the #33 bus going toward the Castro and get off at 18th & Sanchez street and the knitting store is right there. This time as she leave, she didn't give out cupcakes that tast like playdo (THANK GOD).

Then the evening went very smoothly.

Leslie brought some yarn to wang on Susan's swift and we all got to touch it. Mia share with us some sock patterns & we all chit chatted.

All in all is a good evening.

Thursday, February 28, 2008

I miss my "Red Sonya" :=(
It's going to cost $2485.08 to fix her, so glad insurance is covering almost all of it.
According to State Farm, she wasn't broken into, she was knock down. She was in park & some ASSHOLE driver hit her. I should be glad, at least the ASSHOLE pick her up. Good thing it's not my fault so my insurance payment won't go up.

I want her back.

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Back to work on Tuesday after a 3 day weekend and it's raining!!!

Oh well, could be worst.

Good weekend, belated new years lunch w/friends on Saturday, took a nap in the afternoon. Sunday was my 1st dinner of the year for my friends. Friends came & ate. 2 didn't come, one because of plumbing and other because of coming down with a cold, so I have alot of left overs that will last me for the whole week.

Finally drop off my scooter for repairs this morning, it will take about 3 to 4 weeks becasue of insurance claim.

Going back to take the MUNI again. Have to get a bus pass for March!!!

Friday, February 15, 2008

Unfortunaly, it's still cuff down, not toe up.

I need to practice the toe up method.

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

Wednesday, middle of the week and I already have full weekend ahead of me.
Birthday party, Chinese new year lunch, planning dinner for friends.

It's going to be a good weekend.

Had alot of fun @knitting last night. Learn how to knitt socks from toe up.

Monday, February 11, 2008

Rough start on the weekend:
Saturday -- I though my "Red Sonya"(my scooter) been broken into, because my topcase lock was broken.
IT REALLY PISS ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!
It turn out nobody try to steal her, BUT, someone did knock her down with enough force to broken the top case lock. She now have some scraches on her left side. My poor baby.
When to got a hair cut to make me feel better, then sit in the sun for while.

The weekend got better.

Sunday -- Took a friend on back of Red Sonya all the way to Daly City's Diaso. Diaso is a Japanese dollar store with alot of cute stuff. It was sunny (not often in San Francisco), we took the Great Highway & Skyline Blvd. I got up to 70mph. It scenery was wonderful. Got back & when to another friend's party to celebrate quiting her old nasty job & start a new one.

It was a good weekend.

Thursday, February 07, 2008

My 11th pair of socks is too small for adult:=( it's ok, I know people with kids.

It's Chinese New Year, just like every year, I cook a whole fish (including the head & tail) on new years eve to ensure my new year is full of good luck/fortune/etc stuff.

WHY A WHOLE FISH?
Don't know. It's what mom said I need to do every year since I live on my own. I don't question these chinese superstitions, I just do it or I will never hear end of it. It don't take alot make mom happy, just tiny little things.

Hopfully, next week, I'll learn to knit a sock from toe up. I'm knitting it now from the cuff down. Need to get circular needles.

Wednesday, February 06, 2008

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best of luck to me & everyone.

Monday, February 04, 2008

Friday -- Started on my 11th pair of socks!!! somebody stop me!!!

What a weekend :=(

Saturday -- got rain on on the way to the post office, so I stop by my faviorte burger place to get lunch to wait for the rain to stop. It didn't stop, but got bit lighter. Stay home all afternoon.

Sunday -- saw the sun, but it was still cloudy, it rain! I didn't go to the scooter ride :-( because I didn't want to risk getting wet & sick. I didn't get wet because I stay home, but I did get sick! Boy did I get sick!!!! Took an hour nap and right after the nap (5pm), I got the most terrible stomach pain. Enough pain to make me think I need to call 911. I didn't, not because I didn't want to, I didn't have enough energy to get to my phone. Lay on the bathroom floor for about an hour, then vomit my guts out. The pain less a bit, but didn't go away (8:30pm). I finally give up curing the pain and just went to bed early (9pm).

Monday -- Wake up feeling much better. No stomach pain, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! It also look like a sunny day :-)

COOL

The best part: I got sunshine come in from my window :=) so cool.

Still need to clean out my office, so it's a working progress.

I also been sneezing like crazy.
My allergies are not very nice to me.

I'm really enjoying it.

Still working on 8th pair of socks.

It's last day @my current job (more like a half day).
I will miss alot of people here, but not all of those bitches!!!!

I got gifts, cakes, & lunchs from nice staff members I like.

Looking forward to Monday to start @new job full time!

What's so good about this job? there's so many reasons.
Top reason: MORE MONEY!!!! I will have some extra yarn money for Stitch West in February.

Then there's the nice boss, an office w/a window (old job, I'm in a converted closet with no window or air!!), less staff to deals with, mostly men. So far, no bitches or mean asses.

PS: getting ready to start on my 8th pair of socks.

Monday, January 07, 2008

It seems the worst storm is over in San Francisco. For me, I enjoy it. I know it's crazy, but I was raise in Florida, storm like this is normal for me. I even ride my scooter to work in the storm on Friday!!!. I didn't tip over at all, just got bit of wet & was enjoyable.

Sunday -- took my on back of scooter & went across town for a open house. Getting up to 50mph is very fun on Lungda Honda, then when up some really high hills.
Both of enjoy every bit of the ride.

I started on my 7th pair of socks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
